Holi has been celebrated in the Indian subcontinent for centuries and has origin stories dating back to the 4th century CE. Holi marks the arrival of spring after a cold winter. It is celebrated in March, corresponding to the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna. In 2023, Holi is on March 8. It is now celebrated around the world as a way to welcome spring, embrace inclusivity and get messy with color.
Join The Culture Tree and Waterline Square to celebrate Holi in NYC! This fun and festive celebration will include powder play, dance performances, dance workshops and Indian drummers. You can also sample some delicious foods eaten during the festival.
Get ready to dance and play with colors. Wear whites. Children will be given colors, more colors available for purchase.
Rain date March 9, 4pm. Outside colors will not be permitted, since we have very strict regulation on the type of colors.
